The Demon You Know (A Novel of the Others Book 3) by Christine Warren
This is the third book in the Berkley release of the series. Now I am really needing to read the ones published with Ellora's Cave. Because those characters were a lot more present in this book and they referred to their pasts and meeting their mates. But the first two that I have read were, Wolf at the Door and She's No Faerie Princess. I will say that this is not my favorite of the series. I cannot at the moment put my finger on exactly why, but I did not like it as much as the other two. Some of me thinks it was the heroine, some of me thinks it was the storyline. I do not know. But I know I would like to read more about her brother, Noah, he was hot.

As a research grunt at a local television station, Abby Baker tends to blend into the background, which is where she’s most comfortable. But when she ends up being the last resort to cover a hot story, Abby discovers a whole new side to her personality when she is possessed by a fiend—a type of rogue demon. Jamie's Cherub by Gail Faulkner
Very enjoyable book. Also nice and HOT. Very interesting storyline. Emma is very leery of wolf shifters because if a past experience so of course she ends up mated to one. (isn't that how it usually works out) but then Emma gets injected with a potent mixture of Vampire, coral snake and Jaguar (?) DNA and the wolf DNA that she received from being mated to a wolf and now they are fighting within her body for supremacy. On top of that they are fighting the bad guy to make sure that the balance between all the various Others and humans stays at a even level. I enjoyed this and am interested in reading more by her.

Fun book, very hot. It is good if you can get past the fact that all three women fell in love the same day and they were all basically love at first sight. By the end of the weekend two of the three were ready to get married. That was what brought the book down for me. Once I ignored that I enjoyed the stories, especially the last story.

Could not get into this one, but I think it was my mood. It has great potential so I will pick it up to try again later.

Here Kitty, Kitty! by Shelly Laurenston
I got this from a friend and now I need to go find the other book in the series. I think it is called Magnus Heat, it has the stories of her two best friends. This book was funny and HOT. Angelina is a major control freak and big on think before she acts. But she has got a mean aim and now that I think about it this book has quite a bit of domestic violence in it. Everyone is always punching someone else. But I had fun with it, I like kick butt heroines, and this one is definitely that.
Update: The first two books in the series are Pack Challenge and Go Fetch! The copy I read was from Triskelion but the first two have been re-released through Samhain and this one is being released in July.

The Secret to Seduction by Julie Anne Long
I love her books, she is one of my favorite historical writers. She reminds me a lot of Lisa Kleypas. This is the third in a trilogy, the other books were also great and are Beauty and the Spy and then Ways to be Wicked. This was a good ending to the trilogy. I look forward to more books by her.

Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead
This was a very interesting book and I cannot wait to read the next one (Succubus on Top comes out January 2008). It was unique. You don't read too many books about Succubi but I have read two in two weeks. Both very different but both good. This one has a who done it to the story some one is hurting her friends and she is trying to figure out who is doing it.

Succubus (n) - An alluring, shape-shifting demon who seduces and pleasures mortal men.

Pathetic (adj.) - A succubus with great shoes and no social life. See: Georgina Kincaid.

When it comes to jobs in hell, being a succubus seems pretty glamorous. A girl can be anything she wants. The wardrobe is killer, and mortal men will do anything just for a touch. Granted, they often pay with their souls, but why get technical?

But Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid’s life is far less exotic. Her boss is a middle-management demon with a thing for John Cusack movies. Her immortal best friends haven’t stopped teasing her about the time she shape-shifted into the Demon Goddess get-up complete with whip and wings. Kiss of the Wolf by Morgan Hawke
I enjoyed this story a lot. I had never read any of her books before and do not read this time period very often so this was a delightful change of pace. Very interesting world, I am definitely interested in reading more about the prince. But I don't know if this is going to be a series or a stand alone.

Flesh and the Devil by Devyn Quinn
If you like your paranormal dark and HOT then you will definitely like this one. It was a great dark sexy story about vampires. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.

Close Encounters of the Sexy Kind by Karen Kelley
X-files comes to romance!! Just kidding. This was an interesting alien book. She is tired of her perfect planet of only women and reads about Earth and comes here to experience sex with a real man (as opposed to her perfect robot companion, Barton) and actually feel dirt and eat chocolate. Though it is hard to believe a world of only females and no chocolate. Scary. But now that she is here she wants to stay, but she has a wacked out guy in town named Harlan who has convinced the tabloid reporters that she is an alien and the people from her planet want her back. Choices, choices... perfection and sex with a robot or chocolate and sex with a man. I enjoyed this book, it was funny. I do not think it was a keeper for me, but I enjoyed reading it.

Hell's Belles (Hell on Earth Book 1) by Jackie Kessler
Interesting. I enjoyed this one. I had been hearing a lot about this one and how great it was and I was not disappointed. The only thing that threw me was the first time that she time shifted in the chapters telling you the backgroud of the story and Jezebel. You would be reading and then the next chapter took place before "The Announcement". The story revolves around "The Announcement" that Lucifer made and you go back and forth pre- and post- Announcement. So the first time that threw me until I started paying attention to the chapter titles and looking for it. But it was a fun and hot book. (The next book The Road to Hell comes out in November.)
Warning: because I know some of you in my blog world do not like it when the heroine sleeps with someone other than the hero, she does.

Bled Dry (Vegas Vampires Book 3) by Erin McCarthy
We finally get Brittany's story, yeah. Good addition to the series. I am enjoying this series a lot. It is a nice fun vampire series. If you like lighthearted vampire books these are great. The others in the series are High Stakes and Bit the Jackpot.

Hooking up with a vampire has its risks-but getting pregnant usually isn't one of them. Tell that to Brittany Baldizzi, who finds herself in the family way with no father in sight. After their one night of passion, vampire Corbin Jean Michel disappeared off the face of the earth-or at least off the Vegas strip. Corbin is a vampire with a cause, secretly trying to find a cure for his condition. But when he finds out Brittany is pregnant with his child, Corbin can't keep his paternal instincts from trumping his bloodsucking ones. Even when showing his hand could cost him the woman he can't help but love.

Be Mine Tonight by Kathryn Smith
I kept hearing great reviews about Night of the Huntress which is the second book in this series and then realized that I had the first book in the series sitting in my tbr pile. (I also realized later that this was the same author who wrote Game of Scandal and I enjoyed that book very much). So I moved it up. It was interesting. I enjoyed it. The heroine was a bluestocking but unique to me in that she was dying and looking for possibilities to make her life a little longer. It takes place in 1899 Cornwall, England and Pru has cancer so she thinks that finding the Holy Grail and drinking from it will heal her, so that has become her goal. This was a great story you had that inner struggle of the vampire trying to figure out if he was good or evil and what his standing was with God. Plus a great love story. I very much recommend this book, and I cannot wait to read the next one.

I am feeling better today, yeah!! But on the good side of being sick, since I was only relatively comfortable when I was laying down, I got a lot of reading done, I read Bled Dry by Erin McCarthy and Close Encounters of the Sexy Kind by Karen Kelley.

Fortune's Fool (A Tale of the Five Hundred Kingdoms, Book 3) by Mercedes Lackey
I really liked this book. I did not finish The Fairy Godmother and did not read the second book. One Good Knight, at all but I really liked this one. Starting the first book did help a couple times because Godmother Elena was mentioned and her strange horse, ??? cannot remember its name off hand, was in this one. So reading only half of the first book did help a little. Later I know I will go back and try the first one again, I think I was just not in the mood for it at the time. This was a nice warm fantasy adventure with romance, so I thought it was a delightful read.

As the seventh daughter of the Sea King, Ekaterina had a wonderful life—but also a lot of responsibility. Her special gift for moving around on land made her the perfect emissary from her father to check out interesting happenings on the surface. In short, she became the family spy.
On one such reconnaissance mission, she encounters Sasha—the seventh son of the king of Belrus. Though everyone sees his talent at music, they also consider him a fool. Ekaterina suspects something more powerful lies behind his facade. But before she can find out what, Ekaterina is kidnapped!
Carried off by a whirlwind and trapped in a castle with other kidnapped princesses at the mercy of a possessive Jinn, Ekaterina knows her chances of being found are slim. The Dead Girls' Dance (The Morganville Vampires book 2) by Rachel Caine
This is the second in the Morganville series, the first is Glass Houses. This is a decent series, but it is an ongoing one (i.e. her Weather Warden series is the same) so if you like a solid ending to your book/series then you need to wait and read them together. I am enjoying it but I do not think that they will be keepers for me. But I know people who rave about her other series and that was not a keeper for me either (though I will continue to read them).

Claire has her share of challenges. Like being a genius in a school that favors beauty over brains; homicidal girls in her dorm, and finding out that her college town is overrun with the living dead. On the up side, she has a new boyfriend with a vampire-hunting dad. But when a local fraternity throws the Dead Girls' Dance, hell is really going to break loose.

I found a new reading friend at work. I noticed her reading a book by Beverly Jenkins and i said that i enjoyed her books and she looked at me and said, "You read too? " And I said "every chance I get". So we started talking more and she is lending me a bunch of books that are on my want to read list. She buys them as soon as they come out and has quite a few that I have been dying to read but cannot afford and the library does not have them. Yeah!!! Off the bat she lent me Bled Dry by Erin McCarthy, Devyn Quinn's The Flesh and the Devil. This was a great part of my day which had been crappy. Try being sick to your stomach and dizzy while trying to organize class after class playing Tug of War in the hot sun. Not a pretty picture. So that was a great time to sit and chat about romances. Strip Search by Shelley Bradley
This is the sequel to Bound and Determined (good book as well). It has been a while since i read that one, but I think I liked this one more. The hero is the brother to the heroine of BaD. I love books with dancers. One of my favorite parts is when he auditions for her to be hired. Great scene. I have enjoyed her books and really, really, really want to read Wicked Ties by her (released under the name Shayla Black).

Nobody's Baby but Mine by Susan Elizabeth Philips
I liked this one a lot better than the others (It Had to be You and Heaven, TX). It did not take me as long to get into it. The only that I wish was different about it is that I wish there had been more mentioned about her homelife as a child. Maybe I missed it but I don't remember it being mentioned that much, and for it to have as much affect on her as it did, I wanted to see more of it.

Seduction by Chocolate anthology by Thea Devine, Penelope Neri, Lisa Cach and Nina Bangs
This was a nice quick read. I enjoyed it. I like to do anthologies as a break from whatever book I am reading at the time. If I am getting a little bored or need a brief change of pace I read a story in an anthology. I think my favorite in this book was a tie between Sweet Sin and Meltdown.

Since you know I do not like writing sumaries and the book description was not posted at Amazon I borrowed this from one of the reviews posted by Harriet Klausner.

"Sweet Sin" by Nina Bangs. Matt Davis persuades his partner Ann Hawkins to make a statue out of chocolate of a naked man for a bachelorette party they cater. Ann agrees only if Matt is the subject.

"Eliza's Gateau" by Lisa Cach. In Brussels, sophisticated restaurateur Sebastian St. Germain notices the pretty naive American female traveling by herself with too much baggage. Eliza Mandish on a European trip sees the stylish Sebastian and knows he is out of her league.

"Meltdown" by Thea Devine. Event planners Donna Cavalero and Jessica Demont work extra hard to insure that the political fundraiser for Matt Greer is a success. However, both females learn that measuring success may not be in the amount of money raised, but in the respective hunk they desire.

"Seducing Sydnee" by Penelope Neri. Agricultural engineer Sydnee Frost travels to Costa Rica to help Cord Westridge save what is left of his cocoa plants. Upon meeting Cord, Sydnee wonders who can save her heart.

These four tales of SEDUCTION BY CHOCOLATE are delicious reprint of a 2000 anthology starring likable lead characters who understand death by sex and chocolate (you will not believe some of the applications that sound sinfully sweet and salty).

The Leopard Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt
This is the second book in this series (the first is The Raven Prince) though the books can be read independently. I really enjoyed it and will continue to read her books. They are fresh and fun and she has a great voice. The next book and last book, The Serpent Prince is due to come out Sept 1st.

One look at Harry Pye, and Georgina knows she's not just dealing with a servant, but a man. Harry has known many aristocrats-including one particular nobleman who is his sworn enemy.
