After the Night by Linda Howard
I love Linda Howard's books and after a post on a message board that I read about favorite books and many people listed this one, I knew that I had to read it. I was not disappointed.
It is a contemporary with a little suspense set in a little town called Prescott, Louisiana. Faith Devlin has always been attracted to rich bad boy, Gray Rouillard. The problem is that her family is considered trash, her mother is/was Gray's father's mistress, and Gray thinks that Faith's mother ran off with his dad. Not a good way to start a relationship. Faith and her family are run out of town by Gray because of their parents' relationship and now 12 years later she is back in town. Gray feels a unshakable attraction to Faith (who unfortunately is the spitting image of her mother and that does not go over well with the townspeople or Gray's family) and cannot stop thinking about her. Faith is now a successful owner of a travel agency and has learned to hold her own. But Gray wants Faith out of town and Faith wants to find out what really happened 12 years ago.
