I am back!!! I had a great time at my class, I learned tons and cannot wait to apply when school starts. I also got some reading done and I know I am so backed up on my posting now but I will post about these two that I read while I was out of town. Now I have got some major blog catching up to do :)

I have a class out of town that I am taking the next two weeks so my posts are going to be very spotty if at all.

I am being generic and posting these together. They were all pretty good. I am enjoying this series. The series is called Special Ops and is about a Special Ops team comprised of men and women with psychic talents. The other books in the series are Down to the Wire, Against the Wall and Under the Gun. I have read them all and enjoyed them as well, but they all came out about two years before these, and I do not remember the first three having any psychics in them. So maybe they are just tentatively related to these. Like a different branch in the same group like what Cherry Adair did with her TFLAC books. It has been too long since I read them.

Sudden Pleasures (Pleasures Book 3) by Bertrice Small
This is the third book in her contemporary Pleasures series ( the other two are Private Pleasures and Forbidden Pleasures and I am just finding out that I never wrote about them, I will have to correct that.)
I liked this book, but it (and the rest of the series) is not for everyone. If you have read her before and like her style then you might like this.
This is a book about an modern arranged marriage. Both the H and h have to marry or lose their fortunes because of a clause in two wills. So their lawyers team up and put them together. I enjoyed this one. The morality issue that I had with the other books was still in this one. Is visiting The Channel considered cheating... I think that I can still read them because i n the end she gives up The Channel because she no longer needs it. But she does visit it after she is married, so she does have sex with men other than the H. So I know some people who would have a problem with that. But I do not think this one crosses my adultery line yet, but it is teetering on the edge. If anyone else has read it please let me know what you thought.

The Gift (Malloy Family Book 5) by Beth Williamson
My first Beth Williamson book. And gratefully it could be read out of order. I have been wanting to read her for a while but currently am not able to buy any books (because of moving costs and such) and was so excited when friend let me borrow this. I was not disappointed. The story was good and the characters were fun to read about. Now I want to read the rest of them it is the only downfall of series, they get me hooked and then i have to spend more money, borrow them or live without until I have money. Choices ;)

One part gambler, two parts charmer, Trevor Malloy has finally met his match. Book 5 of the Malloy family series. Trevor Malloy loves women of all shapes and sizes. Master of Dragons (Mageverse Book 8) by Anglea Knight
Good book. I got into it a lot easier than the last book and I enjoyed it more. I love this series. You did not get the whole vampire and witch match going, but you got a nice sidhe and dragon thing going. I am getting a nice appreciation for dragon heros. This was a great installment for the series and carried the storyline nicely.

NOTE: in the back of the book, it said she had a new book coming out called Warlord and I was excited until I read the rest and it said it was a release of Jane's Warlord and her novella Warfem (in the Kick @$$ anthology) in one book.

I do not like the description on the back of the book and I cannot find it to copy anyway so I am going to write my own summary.

I got these from the library after having read Shadow Hunter in this series. I still have to read the first and latest books in the series, but the order for the books are: Shadow Force, Shadow Watch, Shadow Hunter, Shadow Surrender and Shadow Warrior.

Both of the books are good with Native American spiritual elements. Nice use of psychic powers and bad guys who are shape-shifters. I wish they had been a little longer and a little more suspense in them, but that is a preference, they were both good withut changing those things.

Prince of Magic by Linda Winstead Jones
This trilogy is kind of a sequel to her witch trilogy (Sun Witch, Moon Witch and Star Witch). It is about their children. I have not read the witch trilogy but have been wanting too. I do not think that it is imperative to read the other trilogy first. I was not lost at all. But they do mention the other witches a bunch.
I enjoyed this one alot. And cannot wait to read the next stories, Prince of Fire and Prince of Swords. I think this was actually the first thing that I have read by her ( I read Raintree: Haunted right after, now I am playing catch up with my posts). In some ways in reminds me of Nora Roberts' Circle trilogy.

Raintree: Haunted (Raintree Trilogy book 2) by Linda Winstead Jones
Great book. I liked this one much more than Inferno. The storyline was good, the characters were well suited and the story was very cohesive. If the first book turned you off, give this one a try. I am looking forward to the final installment, Raintree: Sanctuary by Beverly Barton.

Spoiler (highlight to read) ( haven't tried this yet so here goes...)
This book takes place during the same time period as Inferno (phone calls from Dante show that. And it ends the same time as the other book with the call and feeling that Gideon needs to get to Sanctuary NOW. And then the story ends but you do get the conclusion of the couple, they do get together and such before then end of the book.

The Harlequin (Anita Blake Book 15) by Laurell K. Hamilton
I enjoyed this one much more than the last book. The previous book, Danse Macabre, just had way too much sex in it and too little story line. This one was much different. I can only remember like two scenes and there was much more story to it. So this one is much better than the last couple books. If you read the series and weren't sure if you were going to pick this up, reconsider, it was very good (or at least check it out from the library until it comes out in paperback like I did/am doing).

Anita Blake is about to face the challenge of her life. Into her world-a world already overflowing with power-have come creatures so feared that powerful, centuries-old vampires refuse to mention their names. It is forbidden to speak of The Harlequin unless you've been contacted. And to be contacted by The Harlequin is to be under sentence of death.
Long-time rivals for Anita's affections, Jean-Claude, Master Vampire of the City, and Richard, alpha-werewolf, will need to become allies. Shapeshifters Nathaniel and Micah will have to step up their support. And then there's Edward. In this situation, Anita knows that she needs to call the one man who has always been there for her...

Thought that title might be attention getting, and it makes me smile. My internet is finally back, YEAH!!! I have about 8 things to review to round off my May reads, but I have already read about 8 things in June (I read too much). So I am going to be marathon posting for a little while. Also in the midst of this the family and I are trying to find and buy a house before August (keep your fingers crossed and prayers going). We though that we would have until September but things have changed and now we have to have everything finalized by August. Yikes!! But on to the book...

The first book I am posting about does have to do with my title, it is called Kink.

Kink by Saskia Walker and Sasha White
I really enjoyed this book. I had misgivings and though that I would not when I read the back of the book but went ahead and read it (I got it free in a contest, so why not read it) and enjoyed it more than I thought. It has bondage, voyeurism, exhibitionism and spanking. This book covers a lot. I was afraid when I read the back cover that the wife in Watch Me was going to cheat on her hubby, she does not (though she does put on a show for others). I did enjoy the story, but I really enjoyed Ms Walker's story more. I think because there seemed to be more story to it than Ms White's.

Soory about the lack of posts. I am currently without internet. I am at the moment at the library to type this. So I have a running list of books I want to post about. I will say my most recent buy was the next Raintree book (Raintree: Haunted by Linda Winstead Jones) and I liked it much better than the first book. Well I hope to be back soo, I hope that everyone is doing well.

The Mackenzie-Blackthorn books by Elizabeth Lowell
I read a couple of these a long while ago but could not find all of them so I got rid of them when I was thinning my books at one point. But this past week I found the one that I had been missing while I was a my ubs (Granite Man). And luckily they had all but one of the series in stock. So I bought them. The one they did not have (Fire and Rain) I had read a couple of times so I knew it pretty well and could fit it in the story (I hate reading books out of order).
But here is the series that I read. All of the books are great and are nice quick reads (except for Reckless Love that one is longer, I hadn't even realized this was in the series until I looked it up). This series is classic Lowell. The only thing I wish was different about the series is I am curious about Utah's story. As far as I can tell it was never written. He did not appear in any of the books but he was mentioned as the third brother and a little of his past as well.
I seem to be all about the parenthesis today.

Reckless Love by Elizabeth Lowell
I did not realize this was part of the series because it was a historical, but the main characters were part of the Mackenzie clan and were like great, great, great aunt and uncle to the heroes in the current time period.

Fire and Rain

Red Hot Reunion by Bella Andre
I enjoyed this one much more than the other that I read by her (Tempt Me, Taste Me, Touch Me). This one was longer so that was a plus, it was also a reunion story and I love those. So very hot book, with a cute chef for a hero and it is a reunion story what is not to like. (for me anyway)

Yea. I just got back from a side trip to the library on my way home. Score!! They were having a BOGO on their romance used books. So I got 8 books for TWO Dollars!!!!! (I would have gotten more but all I had in my pocket was two bucks and the hubby said I could not buy anything until payday.) But in the stacks were Sharon Shinn's first (?) five book in her Samaria series. So I got Archangel, Jovah's Angel, The Alleluia Files, Angelica and Angel-Seeker. I have heard good things about this series so I was very excited. The other three that I got were Touch Me by Lucy Monroe, The Wilde Side by Janelle Denison and The Love of a Lawman by Anna Jeffrey.

Maiden and the Monster by Michelle M. Pillow
I have heard good things about this author and was excited to get to try her. I was not disappointed. Now my least favorite genre is medieval historical because of the way women are treated and portrayed. I liked this one. It is not paranormal, I was not sure with the title and description. But it was an good story and had some really good scenes.

Vladamir of Kessen, Duke of Lakeshire Castle, is feared as a demon in the land of Wessex. The Kings have granted him a title of nobility in exchange for his part as a political prisoner. Discontent, he bides his time in his new home until war will once again rip through the land. But boredom soon turns to devious pleasure as the daughter of his most hated enemy is left for dead at his castle gate. Now the monster bides his time plotting revenge.

Lady Eden of Hawks' Nest doesn't know what to think of the man who saved her life, but she can't wrench her thoughts away. Men to Die For by Denise Agnew, Shelley Munro and Ravyn Wilde
Great anthology!! And the cover is great as well. I do not think that there is anything i would change in any of the stories. They were long enough to satisfy me (which is odd for me) and the relationships were all very well done. There was also a nice mix of stories. One is a suspense, one is a paranormal and the other is a nice contemporary. i very much recommend this anthology if you have a chance to read it.

This is the first in the series of The Chosen. This was also my very first M/M book. Interesting. I do not think that I will read them on a regular basis but it made for an interesting change.

Alitus by Kayelle Allen (ebook)
Got this book not realising that there are other books between Wulf and this one. Now I have to go get the other two, At the Mercy of Her Pleasure and For Women Only. Those two are about brothers Senth and Khyff and though it is not imperitive to read them before Alitus, there were things mentioned that would have made a lot more sense if I had read the other two before this one.
It was interesting, but I think I will like them both better if I read all the books in order one after the other.

Jamie's Cherub by Gail Faulkner
Very enjoyable book. Also nice and HOT. Very interesting storyline. Emma is very leery of wolf shifters because if a past experience so of course she ends up mated to one. (isn't that how it usually works out) but then Emma gets injected with a potent mixture of Vampire, coral snake and Jaguar (?) DNA and the wolf DNA that she received from being mated to a wolf and now they are fighting within her body for supremacy. On top of that they are fighting the bad guy to make sure that the balance between all the various Others and humans stays at a even level. I enjoyed this and am interested in reading more by her.

Here Kitty, Kitty! by Shelly Laurenston
I got this from a friend and now I need to go find the other book in the series. I think it is called Magnus Heat, it has the stories of her two best friends. This book was funny and HOT. Angelina is a major control freak and big on think before she acts. But she has got a mean aim and now that I think about it this book has quite a bit of domestic violence in it. Everyone is always punching someone else. But I had fun with it, I like kick butt heroines, and this one is definitely that.
Update: The first two books in the series are Pack Challenge and Go Fetch! The copy I read was from Triskelion but the first two have been re-released through Samhain and this one is being released in July.

I love her books, she is one of my favorite historical writers. She reminds me a lot of Lisa Kleypas. This is the third in a trilogy, the other books were also great and are Beauty and the Spy and then Ways to be Wicked. This was a good ending to the trilogy. I look forward to more books by her.

Flesh and the Devil by Devyn Quinn
If you like your paranormal dark and HOT then you will definitely like this one. It was a great dark sexy story about vampires. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.

The elements from the police procedural, romance and fantasy blend nicely together so that fans will appreciate the ties between the FLESH AND THE DEVIL.

Close Encounters of the Sexy Kind by Karen Kelley
X-files comes to romance!! Just kidding. This was an interesting alien book. She is tired of her perfect planet of only women and reads about Earth and comes here to experience sex with a real man (as opposed to her perfect robot companion, Barton) and actually feel dirt and eat chocolate. Though it is hard to believe a world of only females and no chocolate. Scary. But now that she is here she wants to stay, but she has a wacked out guy in town named Harlan who has convinced the tabloid reporters that she is an alien and the people from her planet want her back. Choices, choices... perfection and sex with a robot or chocolate and sex with a man. I enjoyed this book, it was funny. I do not think it was a keeper for me, but I enjoyed reading it.
